Each day at North Beach Surf Camp is designed for safety, learning, and nonstop fun at the beach. Here's what your child can expect from their day on the beach:

• Arrival & Warm-Up:
  Campers check in at the drop-off zone and walk to our beach tent. We start with sunscreen, hydration, a stretch circle, and a beach talk + safety briefing. Rash guards are handed out, and campers are grouped by age and skill level.
   
• Morning Session:
  For about 90 minutes, campers rotate between surfing and fun beach activities with their group and instructor.
   
• Midday Break:
  Everyone relaxes under the tents for 30 minutes to eat a snack, hydrate, reapply sunscreen, and chat with instructors about surf topics like wave knowledge and ocean safety.
   
• Afternoon Session:
  Campers head back out for another 60–75 minutes of surf time and beach games.
   
• Wrap-Up & Pick-Up:
  We finish with a final circle, return rash guards, and walk campers to the pick-up zone on Hathaway where staff stays until everyone is signed out.

Every camper receives hands-on, small-group surf instruction for to their age and ability. We meet kids where they’re at- whether it’s their first time surfing or they go everyday. Our camp goes beyond just riding waves. It’s a well-rounded program designed to help kids grow as surfers, teammates, and ocean lovers.

Here’s what our campers experience during their time with us- whether it’s for a day, a week, or all summer long:

• Proper Surf Technique – From paddling and pop-ups to stance and balance, we teach the building blocks of great surfing in a way that’s fun and easy to understand.
   
• Ocean Safety & Surf Etiquette – Campers learn how to stay safe in the ocean, how to navigate waves and currents, and how to share the lineup respectfully.
   
• Wave Reading & Timing – We help kids understand how waves form and break, and how to time their takeoffs to catch more waves on their own.
  
   
• Confidence Building – Our approach helps kids push past fear, try new things, and feel proud of themselves in and out of the water.
   
• Surf Culture & Environmental Respect – We share the stoke of surf culture while encouraging a love and respect for the ocean and beach environment.
   
• Community & Team Building – From relay races to beach cleanups and group challenges, we keep the vibe high-energy and community-focused.

We don’t just teach surfing. We build surf safety, self-esteem, and ocean awareness.
